Kintsugi Workshop

Explore the Japanese art of Kintsugi.

Join Precious Scars Studio and discover the Japanese art of Kintsugi at this beginners class and create a beautiful ceramic piece to take home. Kintsugi is an ancient art form that celebrates the Japanese philosophy of the beauty of imperfection. It involves putting broken pieces of pottery back together with gold, embracing the cracks to produce a beautiful piece of art. Learn about the history and philosophy of Kintsugi whilst taking you through the process of making your own kintsugi piece.

Discover the beauty of imperfection as you work with hand selected broken ceramics sourced from across London or bring your own cherished pieces for assessment. Using epoxy and gold toned bronze, you’ll meticulously revive these treasures, beginning with a careful repair and delicately accentuating.

Using old wallpaper, wrapping paper, fabric, tissue paper, posters, napkins, aluminium foil, newspapers etc to give it a fresh, new look.

Suitable for adults and ages 16 plus
